During the month of July, Christian & Small attorneys joined a few of their colleagues across the state to help deliver presentations on various insurance-related topics during the Alabama Property and Casualty Adjusters Association’s (APCAA) July 2019 Seminar Series. The seminars were designed to provide top-quality continuing education (CE) options for Alabama property and casualty adjusters, with the Alabama Department of Insurance approving the seminar series for six hours of general CE credit and one hour of ethics credit.
Christian & Small attorneys provided presentations in Birmingham (July 17), Mobile (July 25), and Montgomery (July 31):
Birmingham

  • Partner Michael A. Vercher gave an update on diminished value claims and loss-of-use claims.

Mobile

  • Partner Christina May Bolin, who leads Christian & Small’s Mobile/Baldwin County office, spoke about discovery issues for the claim file. Later she spoke with claims adjusters on how to avoid bad faith claims handling allegations.

Montgomery

  • Partner Sharon D. Stuart discussed some emerging trends in the insurance industry. She later returned to the podium to discuss evidence preservation issues and ways to guard against bad faith allegations.

According to its website, APCAA “works to uphold and strengthen the ethical standards and practices of the property and casualty adjuster profession in the state of Alabama.” Christian & Small is proud to support this organization as one of its platinum sponsors.
