The 142nd Annual Alabama State Bar Meeting was held at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama from July 17-20, 2019. Christian & Small had several attorneys in attendance, among them:
- Partner J. Paul Zimmerman, along with Lewis Beville, delivered a presentation on the emerging field of cyber security insurance. This breakout session on Thursday, July 18, was sponsored by the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.
- Partner LaBella S. Alvis was the 2019 recipient of the President’s Award.
- The late Clarence M. Small Jr., one of the founders of Christian & Small and a past president of the Alabama State Bar, was posthumously recognized with the Memorial Resolution for his dedication to the organization.
The Alabama State Bar (ASB) is the official statewide organization of lawyers in Alabama. From its website: “Since 1923, when the Alabama State Bar was created by an act of the legislature, ASB programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system. It is dedicated to promoting the professional responsibility and competence of its members, improving the administration of justice and increasing the public understanding of and respect for the law.”
