Christian & Small Partners LaBella Alvis and Oscar Price obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case in Jefferson County after a six-day trial in May. Five experts testified live or by deposition, and the jury deliberated for about 14 hours. The defense conceded that the plaintiff was injured by the procedure, but contested that there was a breach of the standard of care as well as the extent of the injury.
